If you are anything like me, you sometimes get the feeling that you are like the hamster caught in the wheel, spinning round and round and not getting anywhere. This time of year is always so hectic – year-end recitals, spring sports, field trips, booking kids summer camps, planning summer vacations and getting through the last weeks of school! At the end of each day, all sense of calm has completed evaporated, and you are simply surviving.
Patience? Yeah, well, do what I say, not what I do. (Please tell me I’m not alone here!)
So perhaps it is time to slow down, take a deep breath, and count our blessings.
gratitude: n 1. the quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful
“Next time you complain about the price of gas, stop and be thankful you own a car. Next time you complain about a messy house, stop and give thanks you have a family to make the mess. Next time you complain about your boss, stop and give thank you have a job. Live each day with an attitude of gratitude and you will be on your way to a happier life.” DaveWillis.org
So, for the next few weeks, I’m going to find the time to stop, stare out the window with a cup of coffee, watch the rain, and remember just how blessed I am! Anyone care to join me?
